My relationship with cooking has as many layers as an onion. On the surface, it is just a passionate hobby, a way to nourish the body, a convenient consequence of growing up in a Chinese restaurant. Peel way further and one will uncover how it became my personal love language but also a form of intergenerational escapism - and its powerful potential to forge relationships at the comfort of a humble dining table.
